Kis Winery from Karlovci deserves the greatest credit for the promotion of Bermet and reviving the former glory of this truly special wine. This winery dates from 1830. Its emergence is related to the oldest member of the Kis family, Stevan who bought the first wineyard and started a wine production. His descdendants managed to expand the vineyards and the wine production gradually, thus forming solid fuondations of present Kis Winery. They produce top-class wines such as: Rheine Riesling, Italian Riesling, Merlot, Chardonnay, White and Red Bermet. It is a very difficult task to number all the prizes that this Winery has won so far. A recipe for such a success is tradition in combination with persistance, devotion and love for vineyards. Beside the wine production, Kis Winery is also engaged in wine tourism. There is a hall with 30 seats, where wine tasting is organized (it has to be arranged in advance).

According to the recipes of their ancestors, the family Zivanovic produces well-known, special wines, such as Bermet and Ausbruh that have already won many prizes (Zivanovic’s Bermet is the winner of the gold medal of Novi Sad Fair 2003 and the winner of the gold medal for quality of dessert wines (1st Gourmet Journey Wine Challenge Cup), which was organized by Summer Association of Serbia and Montenegro in Hyatt hotel in 2004).
Beside these famous desert wines, the family Zivanovic also produces Italian Riesling, Rhein Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Probus, and also brandies made of honey, grapes and apricot.
Within the family estate the old cellars have been revived. The old wine cellar was dug deeply in the hill in the 18th century; wine is produced there. The other one stretches over 140 square meters under the old house, which was built during the first half of the 19th century, and can receive about 80 visitors where they taste wine, honey brandy and Srem breakfast with home made specialties.

This small winery is situated in the heart of Sremski Karlovci with a beautiful view of Karlovci’s Grammar School. The famous wine, Bermet, that is produced in this winery, will enthuse all of those who try it curiously. The winery also offers the following wines to the true wine connoisseurs: red wine – Merlot, and white wine – Chardonnay, that is considered to be ‘’the king of white wines’’.
Wine tasting can be organized in this winery, but the previous arrangement is necessary. The owners claim that it is not just wine tasting, but, above all, socializing with friends and, therefore, they invite you to visit them and enjoy in their small paradise.
